Week 41 of the 52 Week Pet Photography Blog.
My apologies in advance for this post. I know I should stay focused on one topic, but this theme just has too many directions it can go and my head is about to explode. So Welcome to my ADHD brain. On the bright side, I will be sure to finish writing this post, even though my brain will want to move on to the next thing about 1/4 of the way through.
To start with, I'm going to have to mention my favorite treat. ICE CREAM! I'm not too picky, I love Cold Stone, Dairy Queen Blizzards, and this might sound crazy, but Smith's Private Selections. I don't even know if that's the correct name, but their generic is surprisingly amazing and comes in a variety of delicious flavors.
The next treat topic is vacation. I just finally went on vacation for the first time this year, and that was a huge treat. I spent the week in Duck Creek, Utah, with friends, which is always good for the soul. Here are some of my images from the trip:
Now for dog treats. I use a variety of treats, I even get crazy and make my own sometimes. But here are a couple of my favorite treats to use for training.
Happy Howie natural treats are awesome and affordable. They are limited ingredients, so no garbage which is a huge plus. The downside is they need to be chopped and refrigerated (or frozen). The good news is, it only takes a few minutes to chop the entire roll using an onion chopper.
If carrying around treats that need to be refrigerated isn't ideal, then really the options are limitless. But here is one of my favorites, especially for my dog who likes to bite my entire hand off when going for a treat. Instead of little squares, they are kind of long, which usually means less bloodshed for me. Yay.
A final treat tangent. The portrait below was taken with a helper who was tossing treats behind me, which is how we got this adorable expression. This works great with kibble, assuming your dog isn't super picky.
Where has the year gone? Crazy, that even though I've done nothing all year, it has gone by fast. In celebration of the awesomeness of fall in Las Vegas, I'm offering limited edition fall sessions.
