Pawtraits by Nicole is now accepting applications for the limited edition Tails of the World V3: Las Vegas Dogs portrait sessions.

Tails of the World is an international collective of professional pet photographers. To date, raising over $150,000 for animal charities with local coffee table books.

Last year was so awesome, we're doing it again!

All the Tails chapters are uniting to make a difference for pets in need with fundraising portrait sessions to be featured in TAILS OF THE WORLD: THE BOOK. One big, beautiful coffee table book featuring stunning pet portraiture from artists all around the globe - 100% of the session fees AND book sale proceeds will be donated to charities supporting animals in need of homes.

What is Tails of the World?

Tails of the World is a photographic celebration of dogs around the world in the form of a coffee table book with the purpose of raising funds for dogs in need.

How does it work?

Pet photographers across the globe are joining forces to capture stunning portraits of local dogs and raise funds for the furry friends in their communities. Each photographer will showcase 10 unique images, featuring 10 different dogs, to be included in a captivating book that showcases canines from all corners of the world. By coming together, we aim to celebrate the beauty of our four-legged friends while supporting our communities.

Who is the fundraiser supporting?

The session registration fees (from the Las Vegas participants) will go to Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preventing unnecessary euthanasia and improving quality of life for cats and dogs through spay/neuter services, quality veterinary care, community outreach, and advocacy.

How to participate

Simply fill out the application. I only have 10 spots available, if more than 10 dogs apply, I will go in order of receiving the applications based on who is available for the session time slots and locations.

Each of the 10 dogs will have a portrait session and will be guaranteed a spot in the book.

The cost

The cost for each dog is $150, with proceeds going to Heaven Can Wait Animal Society.

When will the sessions take place?

The sessions will take place between now and September 20, 2024.

Tails of the World is a limited edition, hardcover coffee table filled with images of dogs from around the world.

Registration Details:

Registration is $150 and includes a professional portrait session for one dog and one image in the Tails of the World book.
Only one dog per session.

Upgrade to a full session for an additional $49.

Please note, digital files and printed products (including the Tails of World book) are not included in the registration fee but are available for purchase. However, no purchase is required.

Registration fee goes to Heaven Can Wait Animal Society.

Tails of the World will be published by Caitlin J. McColl, and will be available to purchase at a price set by the publisher. Proceeds from the book will go to Second Chance Animal Rescue in Australia.

Sessions will take place in and around Las Vegas, and will be held outdoors over 3 or 4 different days.

Limited to 10 spots.

Gift Certificates, special offers, and other promotional vouchers cannot be used for Tails of the World sessions.

Once paid, the registration fee is non-refundable.

Frequently asked questions

Can any dog participate?: This book is open to any and all dogs, but the locations will all be in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I just want my dog to be in the book. Do I need to purchase additional products?: That is absolutely fine! Your registration fee guarantees an image in Tails of the World and no additional purchase is necessary.

The book will be available for purchase if you'd like to order.
My dog will never sit still.: That's completely normal and not a problem. I actually prefer this over a dog with a perfect stay because we'll get a little more variety in expressions and more interesting positions. The camera shutter is so quick, we will get the shots. The most important thing is that your dog is having a great day.
My dog can't be off leash.: This is where Photoshop comes to the rescue! Many of the dogs I photograph are on-leash. Safety first! If your dog is distracted by people, other dogs, smells, etc. we are better off doing the session on-leash. Don't worry, it will be fine, the leash will be removed from your final images.

Please note - the collar will be in the image, so bring your fancy collar or a very thin rolled collar, and please no harness if at all possible.

Also, please make sure your collar is properly fitted. We don't want it so loose that your dog can back out of it, but we don't want it so tight that the skin hangs over it.
Do digitals come with my session?: For every product your order, you will automatically receive a medium resolution watermarked digital of that image. You will also have the option to purchase additional digitals if you would like.

As the photographer, I retain full copyright and ownership of all images.
When can I buy the book?: Once I have the link, I will provide it to all the book participants.
I would like to purchase images from my dog's session.: Awesome! I truly hope you love the images we capture! I do recommend choosing the session extension to guarantee we get plenty of gorgeous images of your dog.
