Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Klay, a one-year-old Bulldog mix. Upon meeting Klay, it didn't take long to realize that he is a special boy, with a heart of gold and a personality that will melt any heart.
According to his humans, as a young puppy, Klay found himself at the Animal Foundation diagnosed with Parvo. Luckily, Animal Help Alliance, a local rescue, pulled him and saved his life. At about 12 weeks of age, Klay was adopted and now shares his life with two furry siblings, Silver and Bo, and of course his human parents. He even has human grandparents who visit him daily.
Sadly, Klay became ill this year in August and was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition called Myasthenia Gravis. Fortunately, he was diagnosed quickly and is on medication which has helped him return to normal life, with an exception: When he eats, he needs to eat in a special chair that props him up. But, Klay is so smart, he gets right up in his chair at feeding time.
Even with all that Klay has gone through in his short life, he loves life, people, and dogs.
Not only is Kaly a rescue dog, but he also gave back to rescue dogs in Las Vegas. Klay's humans entered him in the Pawtastic Friends Calendar Contest, and his adorable face raised $300 for Pawtastic Friends!
Klay's hobbies include going on hikes, going out in the Jeep with his daddy, and playtime with Bo. He loves meeting new people and getting/giving attention.
If you need more cuteness in your life, follow Klay on Instagram.
If you're considering adopting a pet, there are many breed-specific rescues in Las Vegas and of course, also many all-American dogs in need of homes. You can start your search at Petfinder or check the Animal Foundation, which currently has 25 pages of dogs, cats, bunnies, hens, reptiles, and a duck in need of adoption.
If you run a rescue and need photos to promote foster dogs or know of rescues who need photos, please reach out to me, I would love to help.

Elaine - I am happy for Klay, that despite what life had to throw at him, he still manages to have the cutest head tilt I have seen in a long time. I love happy endings!
