Bentley
Meet Bentley, a charming 8-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei. Not only is he a handsome boy with a calm demeanor, but he's a natural model who couldn't help but be perfect for his portrait session at Aliant Nature Discovery Park in North Las Vegas.
North Las Vegas
Despite living in North Las Vegas with several parks to choose from, Aliante remains a favorite and is the only park in North Las Vegas that is vibrant and unique enough to photograph dogs in.
Aliante Nature Discovery Park's Unique Features
A Waterfall in North Las Vegas
Aliante Park stands out for various reasons, making it an ideal backdrop for sessions with well-adjusted dogs like Bentley. The park's centerpiece, a distinctive waterfall – the only one in the area – provides a picturesque background that can be photographed from different angles adding variety to the images.
Small Enough for Senior Dogs to Enjoy
With 2 convenient parking lots, along with the park's small size, it's particularly beneficial for older dogs, offering diverse features with minimal ground to cover.
A Cute Little Hill
Aliante has a hill! No, it's not a huge hill, but it might be the only hill in flat North Las Vegas - or maybe the only grassy hill. Why am I so excited about a hill? Oh so much! This itty bitty hill allows me to eliminate the houses, road traffic, parking lots, and all the other eyesores from showing up in the background of your images, hiding the fact that we are in the middle of North Las Vegas.
Silhouettes
Another plus to the hill is silhouettes. Using this tiny hill and the wee bit of space at the top I can capture silhouettes, which is one of my favorite things about this park.
Considerations
Of course, like any other location, some things can be considered less than ideal. The pond and waterfall bring the geese and geese poop.
The convenient location and parking also mean there is a very busy street that runs alongside the entire park. A leash is a must for this park.
The picnic area draws lots of parties. Sometimes, parties with DJs. Often kids drop food that can be unsafe for dogs onto the ground.
For these reasons, dogs that are noise-sensitive, dog-reactive, try to slip collars, are or environmentally sensitive in any way, are not going to enjoy this park, making it a hard no because the safety and well-being of your dog during their session is my priority.
As a dog photographer committed to choosing the best location for each dog's portrait session, Aliante is only one of many options to choose from.

Angela - I love that you include a note on why Aliante Park might not be the best location for a dog photography session in North Las Vegas. We need to be aware of all the pros and cons and that every location might not be suitable for every dog.
