What a fantastic way to kick off the summer season! We've had an incredible start, with June nearly passing by without hitting the 100-degree mark. It's not just impressive; it's absolutely groundbreaking! The National Weather Service office in Las Vegas reported on June 26th that we've enjoyed a remarkable streak of 291 consecutive days with temperatures below 100 degrees in the valley. This incredible feat surpasses the previous record set in 1964-1965, which stood at 290 days.
Not gonna lie, but I've been outside enjoying the weather more than I've been on my computer this month, and while we've had an amazing run, it's time to brace ourselves for big changes. The forecast predicts temperatures of 106 degrees today and a scorching 114 degrees by Saturday. It might not be the most pleasant news, but it doesn't mean we can't create unforgettable summer images of your dog!
Let's explore the exciting options we still have available:
1. Lake Mead
After over a year of being less than ideal, Lake Mead has experienced a remarkable transformation. With water levels replenishing, it has become the perfect spot for active, water-loving canine companions to stay cool and have a blast during their portrait session. Just take a look at the image above to see the unique scenery this year. The presence of vegetation is truly something different and adds a touch of novelty to the backdrop!
2. Spring Mountains
For those seeking picturesque landscapes and refreshing temperatures that remain about 30 degrees cooler than Vegas, the Spring Mountains offer an array of stunning options. You can choose from enchanting forests, breathtaking meadows, or open areas with majestic mountains serving as the backdrop. It's an ideal escape from the summer heat, providing a serene and delightful atmosphere for your dog's portrait session. If we're lucky, we may even find some wildflowers!
3. Your Very Own Swimming Pool
Yes, if your dog loves swimming, you can book a Summer Swim Session, and we can capture some unique and amazing images of your dog having the best time at your own home!
So, despite the anticipated warm weather over the next couple of months, there's still so much to celebrate, especially when it comes to capturing stunning portraits of your dog. Let's make this summer a memorable one by embracing the beauty of our surroundings and creating timeless portraits that showcase the joy and spirit of your best canine buddy.

Carol - Oooof I love Lake Mead! It's such a unique spot. The one time I was there ages ago, this random sr pup wandered away from his family and just sat down next to me for a bit. We are now BFFs for life. Anyways, love that you offer pool sessions too!!!
