Lacey, the Beautiful Husky at the Doctor Harry B. Johnson Rose Garden

Lacey, a stunning Husky with striking eyes and a playful spirit, participated in Tails of the World V3, helping to raise $1,050 for Heaven Can Wait Animal Society. When I first saw a photo of her, I knew the Doctor Harry B. Johnson Rose Garden would be the perfect backdrop for her session. Despite it not being peak season for roses, the garden’s beauty complemented this sassy girl perfectly.

Her session turned into a bit of an adventure before it even started! When we arrived, the small park’s parking lot was completely full—a first for me! Fortunately, Lacey’s mom took it in stride. She’s accustomed to long walks with Lacey, so we parked down the street and enjoyed a short stroll to the garden.

Though the park was crazy with activity, Lacey was an absolute star. Her expressive personality came through in every shot, making her a dream to photograph. There was only one moment when she briefly tried to channel her inner Husky adventurer—as Huskies do—but she was on leash and didn’t get far. (In reality, she just wanted to say hello to another dog.)

The Perfect Christmas Gift for Dog Lovers

Lacey’s session was extra special because it was a Christmas gift from her owner’s mom. Lacey’s owner is in college, and her mom arranged the session to create a stunning album of memories for her daughter. I’m so glad Lacey’s story became part of the Tails of the World fundraiser.
