Las Vegas never fails to give back
Calendar Contests
July and August were my calendar contest months. The very first Wagging Tails calendar contest ran through July, raising just over $3,000 and the second Pawtastic Friends calendar contest ran through August, raising over $9,000!
How does the calendar contest work?
participants donate $5 to upload an image of their dog (or cat), then promote their pet to collect votes. Each vote is $1 and the 12 dogs with the most votes get a portrait session and a spot in the calendar, with all proceeds going to the charity.
Wagging Tails
This year I added a calendar contest to raise funds for Wagging Tails rescue, a 501 (c)3 dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters and owner surrenders, by providing loving temporary while finding their forever homes.
The contest ran through July and was all about studio shots. If you follow me, you know I'm an outdoor person and I love seeing dogs out enjoying life. You may not know that I started with studio photography, and I continue to shoot studio occasionally for specific purposes.
I just thought it would be fun and different with the added bonus of air conditioning.
The contest raised just over $3400 for Wagging Tails. Not bad for the first year.
Pawtastic Friends
The second annual Pawtastic Friends calendar contest raised over $9,300! The contest just ended on August 31st, and the sessions haven't taken place yet, but I'm looking forward to meeting these winners and sharing the portraits.
How Las Vegas give back
Both of these contests were made possible by the amazing community of Las Vegas. Las Vegas has grown over the years, and may be considered a transient town, but the community never fails to come together. Between the two contests, participants donated $12,612!

Nicole Hrustyk - Thank you! Yes, so much fun, and best of all, it offers those looking to support their favorite charity a fun way to give back.

Angela Schneider - How amazing! The calendar contest sounds like an incredible way to help some of the smaller rescues that don't always get a lot of attention.
