Your dog is the center of attention
If you're concerned about your furry friend behaving perfectly during a portrait session, fear not! Your dog is the star of the show and is encouraged to be themselves. After all, isn't that what you want to see on your walls - your dog's unique personality shining through?
Yes, in the end, once I remove the leash in Photoshop, your houseguests will see your portraits and think your dog has a perfect stay! No worries, your secret's safe with me.
Of course, during the session, I may ask you to have your dog sit, stand, or lie down in a particular spot. However, if your dog moves, it's okay - I'll keep clicking away. In fact, I may even reward your dog if they seem confused or just need some encouragement because a happy and comfortable dog will gladly walk around in a quick circle and try again.
Remember, the goal is to capture your best friend having a great day. While we'll aim for the perfect pose, we won't do it at the cost of your dog's happiness. Sometimes, we may need to take a break or move on to a different spot.
You and I understand that this is a portrait session, but your dog has no clue why you're asking them to do random things while this camera-wielding stranger is following you around on your walk. Add to that, environmental factors, like wind blowing all the smells around, dogs or cats nearby, noises, etc. It can be overwhelming to take all that in while being asked to stand or lie down in particular spots. This is why we'll take a few minutes to capture some images, then we'll walk around to the next spot. These breaks in between spots will allow your dog to be a dog, and to take in the environment while decompressing.
So relax and enjoy the process - we'll capture amazing images of your dog that you'll cherish forever.

Elaine - Good friends, great days, capturing unique personalities...it's what it's all about! I do think people worry needlessly about the process. I would bet your clients say "Wow! That was easy!" when all is said and done.
